VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNICATIONS
Communications is key to getting out your message and in Dave Wedge, we have one of the top wordsmiths and strategists in the business.
Dave comes to State6 with a long, distinguished career in media, writing and communications, having been an award-winning journalist for 20 years, a best-selling author and a respected political adviser and public relations professional. His experience in media, politics and business, coupled with his polished writing and social media skills, make him a strong asset to our clients as they seek to craft and deliver their message effectively and efficiently.
A Boston College graduate, Dave was previously a vice-president at Northwind Strategies where he worked with a diverse roster of clients in hospitality, politics, government, sports, health care, non-profit, and development. His experience serves our clients well as he has a unique ability to transform complex messages into simple, direct talking points that can be easily communicated to stakeholders.
It’s a skill that comes from 20 years of writing professionally, including 14 years as an investigative journalist and political columnist at the Boston Herald. He’s also a contributor to VICE and WhereBoston and has written for Esquire, Newsweek, and DigBoston, among other outlets.
His first book, "Boston Strong: A City's Triumph Over Tragedy," written with New York Times bestselling author Casey Sherman, was adapted for the new film Patriots Day, starring Mark Wahlberg and directed by Pete Berg. His next book, "The Ice Bucket Challenge: Pete Frates and the Fight Against ALS," will be released in October 2017, while a film based on it is in development. He and Sherman are collaborating on their third book, based on the Deflategate saga and the New England Patriots’ miracle 2017 Super Bowl victory.
Dave has extensive contacts in the local, regional and national media which he regularly leverages for our clients. He’s been a commentator on CNN, MSNBC, CBC (Canada), Fox News Channel, "Good Morning America," and E! True Hollywood Stories.
