Search Engine Marketing Specialist
The Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Specialist is responsible for the strategy, execution and reporting of all components of search marketing – including organic search, paid search (PPC and display), remarketing and paid social. As an integral part of the digital team, this position works closely with other agency team members, including designers, digital marketers, web developers and freelancers. You know how to A/B test ad elements until you’ve found the most effective balance and feel comfortable managing a range of ad spend budgets. You’ll be responsible for establishing KPI’s, creating monthly reports on all organic and paid campaigns for State6 clients, as well as fostering relationships and maximizing ROI. You’re a results-driven, team player with a strong desire to exceed expectations and a great sense of humor.
duties & responsibilities:
Holistic, PPC/display program management including strategy, trafficking and targeting recommendations, monitoring and optimizing program performance towards key business goals.
Develop campaign components including keywords, creative and copy, landing page selection, account structure etc. Create landing pages if an optimized one does not already exist.
Day-to-day bid strategy optimization and testing. Daily checks on program KPIs, thresholds and campaign budget caps. Ongoing A/B testing. Ongoing management of budget and pacing.
Translating client goals into SEM tactics and executing for maximum ROI.
Analyze and report on results, creating monthly client reports and dashboards.
Oversee initial budgeting process and provide recommendation to clients for spend, backed with data-based rationale.
Manage client budgets towards specific performance goals.
Implement paid search best practices, providing refinement and optimization recommendations and proactively identifying campaign execution issues.
Assimilating data from multiple sources, compiling the information and drawing actionable conclusions that can be measured and reported.
Execute SEM competitive monitoring and analysis.
qualifications & skills needed:
- Minimum formal education, experience and training:
- Professional degree preferred
Minimum two years of experience
Agency experience preferred
- Special Skills:
Proven success setting up accounts for new projects as well as taking over paid-search accounts and demonstrating improvements.
Proven SEM experience managing ad campaigns across platforms, particularly Google and Bing.
Experience with bid management tools, especially Google AdWords.
Understanding of digital marketing and how SEM/SEO fits into larger marketing initiatives.
Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEM and SEO.
Strong understanding of Google Analytics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using Google Tag Manager.
Experience with social media advertising.
Experience with Excel, Powerpoint & Word.
Strong understanding of media research tools – you know their strengths/weaknesses, and when and how to effectively use them. And you already have a favorite.
Keen attention to detail and an analytical approach to achieving objectives.
Strong ability to understand client objectives and how they translate into search and media strategies.
Google Certification (Fundamentals) and Advanced Certification in one area a plus.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.
